Congratulations to Dr. Ulrich Kuhn (UK Essen), who successfully ran Astraia on Mac OS X! Dr. Kuhn, a Mac fan, downloaded the Java version 1.3 from Apple and installed an Astraia client. It worked!

Astraia installs a multi-user system in UMC Nijmegen. With a fully-translated Dutch version (including modifications to patient demographics and indications type I/II) Astraia demonstrates its commitment to the Dutch medical system. Nijmegen are also in advance of most European hospital systems in using SOAP as the protocol for their hospital information system interfacing. SOAP is an HTTP protocol widely used in e-business systems which allows objects to be shared between different systems. The Nijmegen/Astraia interface exchanges information about the patient, huisarts (GP) and Verzekering (Insurance).
