nePUL (The National Ectopic and PUL Database) is launched

We are delighted to announce that nePUL, the UK National Ectopic and PUL Database, is launched. The database will enable hospitals and the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (EPT) to collect data on a national basis, recording information about the number of patients seen with ectopic pregnancies or PUL, how they are treated and what the outcomes are. The aim is to help improve clinical practice by providing information and feedback. It was designed jointly by the EPT, astraia and Professor Tom Bourne, from the Early Pregnancy Unit at Imperial College London.

Case study

Imperial College, London: Caesarean Scar Study implemented by astraia

A prospective early pregnancy study for women attending the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at Imperial trusts, looking at the clinical significance of caesarean section scar on bleeding in early pregnancy, implantation sites and outcome compared with women who do not have a previous delivery by caesarean section.

In early April, Osama Naji, a research fellow at Queen Charlotte's Hospital, came to Munich to design a study screen, as well as enjoying Munich's spring weather and good beers. A week later, despite the complexity of applying software updates within the NHS, the study screen has been installed and is in use. Osama hopes that other Early Pregnancy units using astraia will also use this screen for data collection on this important area of research.

astraia goes Greek

We are happy to announce that astraia software gmbh based in Munich now has a sister company astraia hellas ltd. based in Athens, Greece. Our long year colleague Olga Sereti will support all Greek, Cyprus and Maltesian customers as Managing Director.

Together we guarantee best service and support.

We thank our former partner IOL, especially it's Managing Director, Paris Marinakis for building up astraia representation in Greece, nearly 10 years ago. In this time we enjoyed friendly and successful co-operation. More than 150 customers all over Greek speaking countries are already using astraia systems. IOL will focus on it's core business: interface development and will continue to support hospital interfaces to astraia, remaining in close contact with astraia.

We are looking forward to further successful co-operation with all our customers and business parters.
